Alastair Thompson

Harpsichordist Alastair Thompson has accompanied ensembles at Boston University and Longy School of Music. He has played with Fourscore in the Boston Early Music Festival Fringe, and with the Heliotrope Consort and Patalena. He has appeared as a guest artist with Seven Times Salt, Les Enfants Terribles, the Zelenka Project, and the Weckmann Project.  His 2010 collaboration with Seven Times Salt, featuring music from 18th-century Scotland, was aired on WGBH radio. Alastair pursued graduate studies in 17th-century French cultural history at Tufts University, and has also studied and performed renaissance, baroque, and Scottish dance. In April 2011 he co-directed a staged performance of Matthew Locke's 1657 masque Cupid and Death. He was a member of the artistic advisory board of Helios Early Opera and currently serves on the board of the Viola da Gamba Society of New England.

Rome Pozgay

Rome Pozgay is an amateur violinist / violist with a mission to help ensure that the stewardship we share for musical arts of all ages is passed on to future generations. As a part of this mission, he volunteers his time at Yesterday Service — an aspect of the stewardship is to encourage the continued scholarship and availability of quality printed music through support of publishers and distributors.

Rome recieved his BS in Physics from MIT in 1968, and engaged for 43 years in the development of advanced radar for military and commercial application, and electromagentic systems for public, private, and military communications. He holds 19 US patents (with an additional 3 pending), many international patents and has authored or coauthored 27 technical papers and uncountable technical reports. In his retirement, and just for fun, he continues to develop new analytical techniques for advanced electromagnetic structures.

Rome, his wife Ann Arata, and friend Booth Simpson are the hosts of the Camp Cotuit Chamber Music Weekend. The annual event, now in its 13th season, gathers friends (new and old) for three days of chamber music, orchestral readings, and camaraderie on Cape Cod. In addition, Rome and Ann are cofounders of the North Shore Chamber Music Society, past members of the North Shore Philharmonic Orchestra Board of Directors, and are performing members with the North Shore Philharmonic Orchestra. Rome is also past Treasurer of the NSPO, a past member of the Cambridge Symphony Board of Directors, past concert master of the MIT Symphony, and current Treasurer and board member of the Boston Artists Ensemble, a professional chamber music organization dedicated to bringing world-class performances to the Boston suburbs.
